• Request to interrupt the educational programme - The doctoral educational programme can be interrupted for medical reasons, for the maternity leave or parental leave and childcare, or for other good reasons. The interruption is approved by the CSUD director, at the request of the PhD student, with the approval of the PhD supervisor and of the Doctoral School Council.

• Request for the approval to extend the period of the doctoral stage - In special situations, respecting the conditions of the institutional regulation, the duration of the doctoral study programme may be extended by 1-2 years, with the approval of the University Senate, at the proposal of the PhD supervisor and within the limits of available funds.

• Period of grace request – CSUD - The first two years are approved by the director of the Council for Doctoral Studies of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, at the request of the PhD student, with the approval of the PhD supervisor and Doctoral School Council

• Period of grace request – SENATE- The last 2 years are approved by the University Senate, at the request of the PhD student, with the approval of the PhD supervisor and the CSUD

• Request for the approval for withdrawing from the PhD studies

• Request for changing the title of the thesis - The title of the PhD thesis can be changed at the choice of the PhD student, with the approval of the PhD supervisor, until the thesis is finished and prepared for the public defence

• Guidance committee – The members of the guidance committee are established by the PhD supervisor together with the PhD student, no later than 30 days from the date of enrolment

• Participation certificate - disciplines – For each discipline attended during the training programme based on advanced university studies, the PhD student receives a certificate, issued by the tenured professor of the course, and countersigned by the PhD supervisor/main PhD supervisor. All certificates are submitted by the PhD student at the IOSUD-UTCN Secretariat to prove the fulfilment of the obligations from the training programme based on advanced university studies in the first 6 months of the PhD internship

• Certificate research activity – submitted in the first 6 months of the PhD internship, signed by the PhD supervisor and the guidance committee

• Report scientific research project - In the first 6 months after signing the tuition contract, the PhD student shall present a scientific research project in the view of drafting the PhD thesis The subject of the scientific research project is established by the PhD supervisor together with the PhD student, and it is correlated with the advanced university training programme

• Scientific research programme - To ensure a coherent scientific process for the PhD student, there are 4 Research Reports planned within the scientific research programme. The time frame between two consecutive oral presentations has to be no more than 6 months (one scientific research report per semester).  The report is submitted in the first 6 months of the doctoral internship, together with the Minute of the scientific research project presentation, signed by the PhD student, the PhD supervisor, and approved by the Doctoral School.
